Carpe Diem by G-DO & Xception from "The Otherside"

BIO

It was a chance meeting in the winter of 2009 that brought Chi-Town MC Xception and Dutch producer G-DO together to begin what has now been a non-stop creative process. The two met in G-DO’s hometown of Amsterdam in the last week of Xception’s stay, but it only took the last three days of that week for them to record their first album. Sustained through Skype, a long distance workflow began, and that first project became their debut album Mood of the Music, released on July, 26th 2010Goal Records. They followed that release with what began as a tribute song to Fela Kuti, the legendary Nigerian musician and composer, pioneer of Afrobeat music and human rights activist. The song, ‘Goal,’ turned into a full ten-track album released in April 2011, A Tribute to Fela Kuti: Felatastic, which remains one of the groups most sought after LPs. Felatastic was followed by the EP Chicago to Amsterdam, an elaborate five-track bridge to the December 2011 release of Sankofa, the duo’s “fourteen track masterpiece.”  In the year and half following the release of Sankofa G-DO & Xception have finally ended their long distance work and set up shop on the ground in Amsterdam, finished more than five different projects to be released throughout 2013 and early 2014, and have been performing live shows throughout Amsterdam and the surrounding areas.
